Flux has reached 1.0rc2 status. This means that in a few days, as soon as we are able to migrate it from Makefile pure building to autotoolized one, and after a few more tests Flux will be released to replace Felix.

Flux 1.0 will have the same baseline features of Felix without xmlrpc API and mp3/speex mixing support. For everything else Flux will be more reliable and stable than Felix and will be easier to use thanks to its clarified syntax. Also Flux will have a more tunable building setup making possible to choose which parsers and inputs/outputs to compile. This has really been a pain with Felix, expecially for embedded systems which mainly only had to use the udp->live parser->feng chain. Now with Flux will be possible to have a mini-flux with only live parser + bufferpool output just for that.

We suggest to anyone using Felix to migrate to Flux as soon as the release is made ( or even now if you are brave enough ;) )
