Just a little update for those that aren't following our git trees
Alessandro is trying to beat in shape libnemesi by integrating it in MPlayer you can watch the effort in the mplayer-nemesi tree So far the integration steps are almost done and I'm trying to add more parser/depayloaders in libnemesi, finding the current structure a bit overcomplicated in certain places. Expect some changes on it soon.
Ok, my lack of original ideas for titles is getting to the bottom of the barrel…
There isn't much exciting to say, I recently started to work on an AAC packetizer for feng since I hope to get feature parity with darwin streaming server within this season. What is really missing is quirk compatibility with quicktime, if someone has the time to provide a network dump of the dss/quicktime communication would be quite nice, nobody had the time to prepare it yet.
We are almost ready to release, the live support seems almost stable, Dario is getting seek working up to a point and I eventually split bufferpool from feng so you'll have to install it in order to build feng Alessandro made libnemesi use the standalone netembryo
The ebuilds had been updated to reflect those changes.
Sadly I hadn't the time to add multicast support since I had been sidetracked by other tasks.
Basically we spent some time recovering the old server (streaming.polito.it will point to this pages really soon) that died just last week. I enabled the new mailing lists and added a feature or two to our roundup so you can play with it using your email address.
Again a belated report, most of the work involved a pretty evasive bug present on the actual live support in feng (the fenice one forwardported more or less), strangely looks like we are missing a lock somewhere and from time to time _something_ segfaults. Since this bug is hard to reproduce we are wasting lots of time and effort basically trying every debugging facility that comes to mind, as result I updated the configure to support mudflap and duma, so far the bug manages to escape the nets.
Here is another slightly belated report (or perfectly in time depending on your concept of week).
Looks like was quite a fruitful day/week
I know this item is quite belated but we got _quite_ busy and still we are.
Here a summary:
An unusually short item, we spent most time doing documentation and cleaning up the code.
Tomorrow we'll be at the Accademia delle Scienze doing a webcast for the convention Le fonti di energia.
More will follow later in the week.
