The LScube - Libre Streaming, Libre Software, Libre Standards (formerly known as OMSP - Open Media Streaming Project) is a free/libre software project, supported by the Internet Media Group, that develops and maintains a suite of programs focused on multimedia streaming. We strive to fully support the IETF's standards for the real-time data transport over IP. The aim of the project is to provide open, free and interoperable solutions on a par with other proprietary streaming applications. All LScube software is released under Free Software licenses.

Not so weekly lately..

I know this item is quite belated but we got _quite_ busy and still we are.

Here a summary:

  • libnemesi is getting some love eventually, I'm currently thinking a good way to add the sdp data I need in the rtp session structure in order to have the vorbis (and theora and h264 and…) parser done.
  • feng got an improvement in the scheduler from Dario and amol is still leading the refactoring+doxyfication effort with me cheerleading^W ruling^W providing help and guidance cough…

Another week another report

An unusually short item, we spent most time doing documentation and cleaning up the code.

Tomorrow we'll be at the Accademia delle Scienze doing a webcast for the convention Le fonti di energia.

More will follow later in the week.

Alive and well - we just changed to git

Some random news:

  • The transition is complete and the development has been shifted to git, I expect some hiccups in the next week but so far isn't bad at all.
  • New site: It is getting some new content but we hadn't time to migrate everything we'd like to keep from this current one, I'm still undecided about nuking the forums or not.

Almost midweek weekly update.

We are alive, mostly, currently we are about to switch to git that means that you will have to follow new instructions about building our software (feng will require you to separately checkout netembryo now) and while we were at it we started a site wide update, that soonish will appear with gitweb, some wiki-managed documentation (including xhtml snippets for integrating rtsp resources in your webpage) and a new and hopefully working bugtracker!

Weekly update (Belated again...)

We got busy doing some cleanup and lifting in the feng source code, Dario spent some time documenting netembryo and adding a signal handler infrastructure. I tried to keep cleaning up the code removing some dead directories and redundant headers. We'll try to complete the code documentation within this week an hopefully provide it on the new website. I'm planning to publish a roadmap for this year, anybody got some particular wish for feng or libnemesi?

Break my feng (on an efika)

We started doing some test on the new feng and since one of the tests has to be about scalability and resource consumption we just took the efika and loaded our webserver and for now just a single content.

Please install vlc (or use cvs gstreamer, or mplayer) and then click here.

Modules up

All the useful modules are in place!

New site
